I was teaching in Early Childhood for 14 years in Southland in several positions including travelling around isolated communities providing teaching and learning programmes in people’s homes, community halls and transition to school programmes. I completed my degree in Teaching: Early Childhood then a Diploma in Primary Teaching through Dunedin. I have taught since 2002 in three schools previously to Tatuanui, in Hamilton and Invercargill. I have also completed 2 Post Grads, one in IT and the other TESOL as well as a Diploma in Ministry. In each school I have held positions of responsibility such as leading IT teams, Library development and Team Leader positions. Over the last 15 years I have travelled throughout Asia numerous times supporting the work in orphanages and teaching teachers in remote areas. This has helped me to understand a variety of cultures and extend my teaching skills. I love learning new things and enjoy visiting my young adult son in Invercargill as well as walking my dog. In January 2017 I cycled the Otago Central Rail Trail with my Mum who was 79 at the time. I started teaching at Tatuanui in 2017.
